This is a call to all Logisticians and their Families and Friends

You are invited to a Special Logistics Branch Event this Saturday, Canada’s 150th Birthday.

Come join BGen Michael Rafter, Chief of Staff VCDS at a historic ceremony honouring Canadian Fallen at Beechwood Cemetery to launch the International portion of the 50th Anniversary Logistics Branch Flag Relay.

During the next 15 months, our Branch is sending a 50th Anniversary Logistics Branch Flag around the world to many CAF operations and exercises then across Canada to our Bases and Wings and to numerous events and activities.

You are invited to the very first official event featuring this Flag. This is a highly significant and patriotic event for the official flag to begin its international leg as it is unfurled at Canada’s National Military Cemetery to honour Fallen Canadians all of whom have been supported by the Logistics Branch throughout the careers.

We will meet at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces (Section 103) at Beechwood Cemetery in Ottawa — 280 Beechwood Ave, Vanier, ON K1L 8A6

The timeline is as follows:

1 July 2017 — 1030hrs — gather together at the main monument at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces (Section 103)

1055 hrs — the OPI, MWO Paul Flowers will call for everyone’s attention

1100 — Address by BGen Michael Rafter, Chief of Staff VCDS

1105 — Attendees will have the opportunity to take photos with the Flag — Please send your photos to 1July2017@gmail.com for possible publication in the Logistics Branch Newsletter

1130 — Event Ends

Administration:

1. Arrive early so you have time to walk depending on where you park

2. Bring your own water in case it’s a hot day

3. The cemetery will not have staff present, hence public washrooms may not be available

4. This is not an official parade, however, serving members are welcome to wear their uniform of choice should they desire –3Bs or CadPat are both suitable.

Nous lançons un appel à tous les logisticiens et à leurs familles et amis.

Vous êtes invités à une activité spéciale du Service de la logistique ce samedi, le 150e anniversaire du Canada.

Venez vous joindre au Bgén Michael Rafter, chef d’état-major du VCEMD, pour une cérémonie historique au cimetière Beechwood qui vise à honorer les Canadiens tombés au champ d’honneur afin de lancer la partie internationale du relais de drapeau pour le 50e anniversaire du Service de la logistique.

Au cours des 15 prochains mois, notre Service transportera un drapeau du 50e anniversaire du Service de la logistique partout dans le monde vers de nombreuses opérations et de nombreux exercices des FAC, puis dans nos bases et escadres au Canada ainsi qu’à de nombreux événements et à de nombreuses activités.

Vous êtes invités à la toute première activité officielle comprenant ce drapeau. Il s’agit d’une activité très importante et patriotique pour débuter le voyage international du drapeau officiel alors qu’il est déployé au cimetière militaire national du Canada afin d’honorer les Canadiens tombés au champ d’honneur, qui ont tous été appuyés par le Service de la logistique tout au long de leur carrière.

Nous nous rencontrerons au cimetière militaire national des Forces canadiennes (section 103) au cimetière Beechwood, à Ottawa – 280, av. Beechwood, Vanier, Ont K1L 8A6

Le calendrier est le suivant :

1er juillet 2017 — 10 h 30 – rassemblement au monument principal du cimetière militaire national des Forces canadiennes (section 103)

10 h 55 – le BPR, Adjum Paul Flowers, attirera l’attention de tous

11 h – Allocution du Bgén Michael Rafter, chef d’état-major du VCEMD

11 h 05 – Les participants auront l’occasion de prendre des photos avec le drapeau – Veuillez envoyer vos photos à 1July2017@gmail.com pour la publication possible dans le bulletin du Service de la logistique

11 h 30 – fin de l’activité

Administration :

1. Arrivez tôt pour que vous ayez le temps de marcher selon l’endroit où vous stationnez

2. Apportez votre propre eau au cas où il fasse chaud

3. Il n’y aura pas de personnel au cimetière, il se peut donc que les toilettes publiques ne soient pas disponibles

4. Il ne s’agit pas d’un défilé officiel, toutefois, les militaires en service peuvent porter l’uniforme de leur choix s’ils le désirent – les 3B ou le DCamC sont appropriés.
